A SILENT PRIME MINISTER

Sir, —It would have done the hearts of all New Zealanders good to have heard th<» ringing cheers with which the people of London and the United Kingdom greeted the arrival of the carriages of the various Empire Prime Ministers during the Coronation procession. Jt was a pity, however, that the New Zealand carriage was the only one whose occupant showed no bigu or gesture in acknowledgment of the wonderful reception. In the course of a long view of the carriages passing Hyde Park corner there was no sign that the carriage was occupied at all, a most significant contrast to the cheery response from the occupants of all the other carriages. Visitor from New Zealand.
