SINGLE POOL BETTING ELEVEN HORSES IN CUP THE LIKELY FAVOURITES 'lhe Foxton Bacing Club's Winter Meeting will be held to-day, when the useful fields engaged should provide some interesting contests. The singlepool system of betting w ill be in operation. GOOD EFFORT AT TE RAPA The three-year-old Du Maurier was responsible for a Aery promising performance in finishing second to Bass in the Gordouton Stakes at To Rapa last Monday, failing only near the end after showing brilliant speed early. Du Maurier is bred to gallop fast, being by Surveyor from Muria, by Absurd from Marsuma, by Lupin from Ran Rati, by Gipsy King from Torori, by Musket, and may not be long in reaching the winning list.
