REVIEW OF BOARD'S WORK WATER SCHEME COMPLETED The principal work carried out by the Panmure Township Road Board during the past year was the provision of a reticulated water supply at a cost of £2300, stated the report submitted at the ratepayers' meeting 'last night. The work had been completed in a very satisfactory manner, continued the report, and this additional public -facility would enhance the attractive features of the district as a residential suburb. The board's finances were reported to be in a sound condition, there being a credit balance of £l3 in the general account and £32 in' the water supply maintenance account. There were also credit balances of £398 and £l5O in the water loan and deposit accounts respectively, but both these would be subject to commitments in the current financial year. Outstanding rates totalled £59, not including amounts due in respect of State dwellings. The chairman, Mr. W. G. Brown, in outlining the board's work plans for the current financial year, said the main highway would be given another tar-sea) coating. With the aid of the departmental subsidy the cost to the board would not exceed £25. The reconditioning of footpaths which had been disturbed during the laying of water-mains would also be undertaken, added the chairman.
The report was adopted, the board being complimented on its work.
