RICCARTON HORSES COMPETITORS AT WASHDYKE DISCUSSION OF PROSPECTS [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] CHRISTCHURCH. Wednesday Cottingham jumped four hurdles at Riccarton to-day in a dashing manner. He will be ridden by Turner in his only Washdyke engagement on Saturday. Polydora jumped five steeplechase fences well. She will be ridden by W. Hogan to-morrow, but if the track should be heavy, she wi 11 be reserved until Saturday, when H. Turner will probably be available for her. Full Throttle and Arrowglen were given some education over pony hurdles. Streamline and Flashlight are bracketed for the Craigmore Steeplechase at Washdvke, but the latter will not make the trip. He has done a fair amount of schooling, but is not considered far enough advanced to begin racing. Hunting Go is to have his third steeplechase at Washdvke to-morrow Li his first attempt he fell, and in his next appearance, at Invercargill last week, he won. This was his first success since he joined the jumping brigade when owned by his breeder, Mr. D Grant, Timaru. Hunting Go was purchased a short time ago by Messrs. J S. and H. E. Ha/.lett, Invercargill, who should have a good season with him over the country Royal Gallant has run his best races when the track has been soft, and his success in the Waimnte Cup last month suggests a chance for him over a mile and a-quai;ter at Washdvke. Queen of Song unwound one of her old-time finishing runs in the Coronation Cup at Ashburton, and but lor being checked during a critical stage ol the run home, she may have caused "lore trouble to Concertpitch. ith a track to suit her to-morrow, and on her homo ground, she is certain to attract a large following. Noiana has raced consistently since had her first success at the Banks Peninsula meeting in March, and she has narrowly missed further wins in her J®st two attempts. She is one of the Night Raid breed which has usually fared well in holding going. Noiana was inclined to be highly strung, but she has improved with travelling and facing. Deliuni was accepted for in the Levels Hurdles and the Claremont Handicap Washdvke, but he is to start in the latter. He has had a little schooling at Riccarton and will require a good deal Wore before he is ready to take his place in a hurdle field. Queen Dorothy lias two engagements ftlso to-morrow, but on her success over s °ven furlongs at Ashburton, when she Won goinyf away from Grcv Honour, is likely to contest the South Canterbury Handicap. This Paper Money has previously shaped well over j} mile and a-quarter on a heavy sur'a9e, and she inav spring another surpnse to-morrow.
