WORLD PEACE

Sir, —A great opportunity presents itself for Mr. Savage, our Prime Minister, who now sits at the Imperial Conferences The world is thirsting for peace, yet no nation has set forth a solution; they trusted to Parliaments and to tho increase of armaments. Yet peace is as far off as ever. 1 would suggest that Mr. Savage move before this important body that representatives of all nations be invited at once to a round-table talk. Tho proposal would be that no nation whatsoever go to war until a referendum of the people is taken and it must be decided by a one-third majority. In order that such a scheme would be correctly carried out, the representatives appointed by the world's committee should be empowered to carry out this referendum in each country that desires a vote on the matter so that it would be carried out in a strictly just manner. .L have no hesitation in saying that all countries without exception would be against war. Furthermore, if any nation should decide to go to war, the whole of the profits during the preparation and period of war should be paid into the State. Walter F. Darby.
