DEVONPORT NURSE
PRESENTATION EVENING A farewell social evening for Nurse Stronach was given by the mothers of the Devonport branch of the Plunket Society, in the Masonic Hall yesterday. The hall was attractively decorated for the occasion with flags and red, white and blue streamers. The small tables, which were arranged around the hall, were adorned with vases of chrysanthemums and marigolds. The guests were welcomed by the president of the committee, Mrs. A.
T. Griffiths. On behalf of the mothers, Mrs. Griffiths presented Nurse Stronach with a solid leather suitcase, a brown silk umbrella and a bouquet, in recognition of her long service and many kindnesses. A member of the Plunket executive council, Mrs. R. B. Cruickshartk, gave a short address. Items were given by:—Mrs. M. Meikle and Mrs. Gainor Jackson, who sang, Mrs. Hutchings and Miss Gladys Mailabond, who gave pianoforte solos, and Miss Peggy Beaumont, who recited. Slipper was served and "Auld Lang Sync" ended a very happy evening.
