AUTO PARTY
Y.W.C.A. GIRLS' COMMITTEE
An "Auto Party" was hold in the Y.W.C.A. Assembly Hall last night, when girls from schools, shops and factories were the guests of tho Guls' Committee. The hall was decorated with red, white and blue streamers, coloured lights and toi-toi plumes, and a feature of the evening was the supper table, which was appropriately decorated, with two "tyre men" and a number of small motor-cars to add to the novelty of the scene. Miss Davina Bates, secretary of the girls' work committee, was in charge of arrangements, and she was assisted by the following Miss D. Porteous, Miss Gwon Evans, Miss Barbara Stalker, Miss Leola Tasker, Miss Pat Malone, Miss Treska Warren, and Miss Joy Kelly. The girls were received on arrival by Mrs. K. M. Griffin and Mrs. Roger Aickin, and others who helped to make the evening a success were Mrs. L. Brooker, Mrs. E. H. Smee, Mrs. H Wilkitf and Mrs. A. Moyle. The pianist was Mrs. S. Hyland. The girls, who were all comfortably clad in shorts or tunics, spent a happy time playing special "auto" games, and during the evening Miss E. Bennett, general secretary, spoke briefly on the "girl citizen" movement.
