At the annual meeting of the Te Aroha Orphans' Club the following officers were elected: —President, Mr. J. O'Sullivan; vice-presidents. Messrs. S. 1). George, F. H. Vincent and L. Hopkins; secretary, Mr. D. Humphrey; treasurer, Mr. W. Cullen; committee, Messrs. W. Smith, J. Excel]. A. E. Hinton, F. Knight, J. A. Hepburn and W. Moore; programme and musical director, Mr. J. C. Young: pianists, Messrs. J. Cottcrcll and S. T. Martin; chief steward, Mr. W. Magill; usher, Mr. J. O'Connell; auditor, Mr. A. L. Vickers.
The opening night was fixed for June 1, and subsequent nights on the last Tuesday of each of the next five months.
