FINED FOR ASSAULT

SEQUEL TO A DISPUTE A sequel to a dispute in a bakehouse on the afternoon of March 1 was heard in the Police Court yesterday, when Arthur Bautnan was charged before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., with using insulting language and assaulting a baker's apprentice. The accused pleaded not guilty. The magistrate said the evidence showed the complainant to be a very unsatisfactory apprentice. The accused had been subjected to provocation. He had lost his temper and struck the boy and that, of course, was not the right thing to do. On the charge of using insulting language accused was convicted without penalty, and on the assault charge he was fined £l, without costs
