CORONATION INGLESIDE
CALEDONIANS FOREGATHER The impending Coronation was marked in the special decorations at the Carlton Hall, • Sandringham, on Saturday night when the Sandringham Caledonian Society held a most successful Ingleside. There was a gathering of fully 200 members and friends and the floor was thronged during the dance programme. The chief, Mr. W. D. Fulton, was piped to the stage with traditional honours and he and thp company also received official representatives of neighbouring city and suburban kindred societies as they were piped in. The stage decorations provided a striking reminder of the historic Empire event of the coming week. Curtains of lloyal gold with the Scottish flag emblem, the Lion Rampant, surmounted in crimson, formed a background for a replica of the Royal Crest, which was emblazoned in gilt lettering on a centrals-mounted shield. ! Miniature flags of the Empire and ribbons of red, white and blue, which were" draped at intervals round the hall, enhanced the general effect. A musical programme was presented under the direction of Mr. W. Freeman. Vocal solos were contributed by Mesdames Black and Massicks, and Mr. R. J. Peters. Elocutionary items in the Doric were given by Miss Peters. National an character dances were given by Miss Sinclair and piano-accordeon duos with vocal chorus were presented bv Messrs. A. Millar and McEwan. The accompaniments were played by Miss Goodsir. The dance programme included several old Scottish numbers. Supper was served under the direction of the ladies' committee.
