PAKURANGA HUNT

GOOD SPORT ENJOYED LARGE ATTENDANCE AT MEET SEVERAL HARES PUT UP There was a large attendance of members of the Paknranga Hunt Club at the Paknranga Hall on Saturday for the weekly meet. Besides members on horse there were several on foot. Tlirow-ing-off on Mr. F. Roberts' property the hounds were first worked through to Mr. J. Roberts' farm without finding a hare. After crossing to Mr. «T. Gill's property a strong hare was put tip and it provided the riders with a good run across the road to Mr. R. Thompson's property and then across another road to Mr. R. White's property. Kill After Good Run The run then followed through a good line of country to another property of Mr. F. Roberts and on to Mr. G. Churches' farm. The hare then crossed the main Howick road to Mr. A. Millon's property and circled round the creek at the back to Mr. N. Millen's property. A strong run followed backto the main road to Mr. Churches' property again, where a kill was made after 50 minutes' run over the cream of the country. Another hare was put up on Mr. L. Hunt's farm, taking the field at a fast clip over Mrs. G. Thompson's, Mr. P. V. Roake's and Mr. R. Thompson's properties and then back to the road, where the scent was lost. Several short runs took place on Mr. J. Gill's property, and after that the hunt adjourned to the Paknranga Hall, where afternoon tea was served by women hunt members of the district.
