CHESS MASTER

SIMULTANEOUS DISPLAY A further display of simultaneous chess was given by the Hungarian master, Mr. Lajos Steiner, at the Auckland Chess Club's rooms on Saturday night. This display was held in conjunction with the opening of the club season. The 27 games played all proved vory even, and Qf them Mr. Steiner won 23, lost three and drew one. The drawn game was with Mrs. T. G. Short, who has thus drawn three games in the scries. The winners were Messrs. .H. D. Addis, 1. Burry and Adkins.' Mr. Steiner will give his final display at the Papatoetoe Chess Club this evening.
