LAWN TENNIS
WESLEY CLUB'S FUNCTION A large number of members and visitors attended a successful social evening to mark the conclusion of the Wesley Young Men's Institute Tennis Club's season. The president, Rev.. E. T. Olds, presented the following trophies and certificates:—Ladies' singles (championship cup), Miss N. M. Hickling; ladies' doubles, Mrs. A. I. Moir, Miss D. M. Gough; men's singles (S. J. Ambury Memorial trophy), D. H. Payne; men's doubles, T. 11. Ellison, H. M. Westwood; combined doubles championship (Eastoe Cup), Miss N. M. Hickling, D.. H. Payne; combined doubles handicap, Miss F. G. Laird, T. H. Ellison. The Spalding Cup and the Jubilee Cup won in the Churches' Association B grade championship, and the jubilee knock-out for a tournament commemorating 25 years of churches' tennis, were also presented.
