The only gallop timed early was a nine-furlong task by Wild Chase and Top Notch. Wild Chase finished well in front of his stable-mate, and the time, 1.58 2-o. was very creditable. Wild Chase is exceptionally well and once again the track next week will bo to his liking. Lazybones and Mulatto finished abreast after five furlongs and Haughty Winner was clear of Day Dress over a similar joi::"icy, while Mob Rule followed on her own. Fiord had a substantial advantage over Royal Chief at the end of six furlongs. The latter requires vigorous riding. Fiord is in his best order. Emissary sprinted along the back, while his stable-mates, Sunbeam and Miracle, covered half a mile together. „, , Paper Slipper, Lofty, Merry March, Cvrillian, Yale, Garonne and Heloise all did useful work on the plough, and Lustral. Primak and Mercenary each sprinted %hrce furlongs. Swordstick in Good Form After the interval, Chidden an_d Sovereign Lady covered a mile in 1.45. Joyous sprinted three furlongs along the back in 38 3-5. Comus and Cocksure were together at the end of half a inile in 50s, The latter is improving. Swordstick was a sength in iront of Polvdora after a mile in 1.43 4-5. Golden Lap went with them for half the journey and then began to tail off. Swordstick will be rid don by 1L W. Hibberd on Monday and can be dopended upon to make a bold showing. Argentic and Concertpitch achieved excellent time over a mile. They ran the first three furlongs in 36 2-5. the half-mile in 49 4-ss, and completed the journey in 1.41 3-5, finishing practically abreast. They have done well since the Trentham meeting and both will be deserving of attention next week. A. l'l Ellis will ride Concertpitch in the Great Easter Handicap. I Epris, joined by Epic at the seven furlongs, ran a mile in 1.44 1-5, and finished several lengths in front. Willie Win and Tunneller were coinpan ions over the early stages of a milo, but the former drew away in the run home and finished six lengths to the good in 1.40 3-5, Tunneller taking 1.49. " Palmary and Hunting Bag set off to jump two brush hurdles together, but the former blundered at the second and dislodged his rider. A. Russell. Hunting liag carried on alone and jumped four more fences reasonably well. Russell jiad oik! of his forearms trampled on and lie is not likely to ride for a while. Royal Amphora jumped two fences satisfactorily. The Chokebore stable will start four two-year-olds in the Russley Handicap on Monday. G. Humphries will ride Mob Rule, A. C.
