MAORIS AT CORONATION
LEADERS MEET MINISTER Arrangements for the New Zealand Corouation contingent were discussed at a meeting of Maori tribal leaders, which was attended by the Minister or Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, in Auckland on Thursday evening. Representatives of the Maori Returned Soldiers Club expressed appreciation of the tact that four members of the race ha" Avon places bv ballot in the Coronation contingent. The Minister explained that the number had been limited by the Imperial Government to 50 from the defence forces and ex-servicemen. The gathering warmly thanked tn° Minister for allowing the club, through its members in the contingent, to plac« s ' on the Cenotaph at Whitehall, on bfi half of the Maori people, a wreath i memory of their fallen. The wreath !bo of karaka leaves and will be eai cased in ice for Transit.
