Dust-masked farmers are preparing to throw up protective bulwarks of clods on their low lands. Visibility is virtually nt zero and motor traffic has been stopped. A cloud of powdery grey dust sifted over Texas and reduced visibility to 300 ft. in some places. Some farmers are demanding Government relief and propose to write to members of Congress asking for Government employment so that they .can eat while they battle with the dust. It is pointed out that the State of Oklahoma made liberal contributions to the flood relief funds and its farmers now aro as badly off as the flood sufferers but nothing is done to help them. Schools wore closed and street lights burned all day. There is a shortage of dust masks. Wind-blown top-soil spread a haze over parts of Kansifs, Texas and Colorado. Red Cross officials have appealed for nurses to help doctors to handle influenza and pneumonia, which have been aggravated by the dust. , Eleven deaths have occurred in the town. I
