TRIALS AT RICHMOND SUPERB AND ATARAU KING [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN COItItKSI'ON DKNT] NELSON, Friday The Richmond course was in splendid order this morning, when some fast trials were recorded, two special ellprts being those of Superb, who went a mile and a-half in ,'L2(), and of Atarau King, who covered a mile and a-quartcr in 2.18. Both pacers worked attractively. Native Colo finished better than Activity at the end of two miles in 4.84, the last mile in 2.14. First Aid, accompanied by Glandore on the last mile, going 2.15, Abyssinian King ran ten furlongs nicely in 2.50, while Reno and Repeal were not taxed to record similar time. Ideal, who looks IH, had no difliculty in registering 3.25 and Travelwell impressed by equalling this eil'ort. Margaret Parrish, trotting more sol idly than usual, gave a useful display over a mile and a-half in 3.30. The three-year-old Durbar Lodge trotter, Gerfalcon, gave a sound exhibition but he was not asked to go fast. He will be driven by L. Frost, who will also drive Loretta, Glencree, and Vinco to-morrow, in the absence of L. A. Maidens. Grand Author will not start at the meeting.

STAKES TOTAL £ISOO Particulars of the programme for the Franklin Racing Club's annual meeting, to be held at Pukekohe on Saturday, March 6, are detailed elsewhere in this issue. The value of the Franklin Cup is £350. together with a gold cup valued at £SO, and the total stakes are £ISOO.
