90TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED KING'S CONGRATULATIONS (Received January 15, 6.5 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY, Jan. 14 Tho King and Queen have sent their congratulations to Prebendary Carlile, founder of the Anglican Church Army, who to-day celebrated hie 90th birthday.
Prebendary Wilson Carlile was born at Brixton, London, and in 1862 went into business, in which he was very successful. He studied for tho Church of England and was ordained in 1880,
taking up work among the soldiers. He began the Church Army movement at Kensington in 1882. During the Great War it did excellent service among the troops, providing among other things hostels and recreation huts, lie was made a Companion of Honour in 1926 and in the following year, at the age of 80, ho tramped through England to raise 1000 men for missionary work at homo and abroad.
