MARKED INCREASE LAST YEAR [KIIOM OUH OWN (.'OiIItKSI'ONDKNX] . WHANG ARKI, Thursday The value of new buildings, and alterations and additions to old structures in Whangarei during 1936, showed on increase of £18.849 over those of 1935, the respective totals being; £59,818 and £40,9(34. The total number of new buildings last year was 50. ns against 44 in 1935, while the number of additions and alterations in 1930 was 71, compared with 00 in 1935. New business premises estimated to cost over £20,000 will bo put in hand within the next few weeks, and several new private residences are in course of erection.
