Main for the first prize money payable to the owner of the winner of (lie Rnkinn Handicap, run at the meeting of the Takapuna Jockey Club hold at Ellerslio on November 30, 193(5, came before tlie eoinmitteo of the Takapuna Jockey Club yesterday. The claim was based upon the grounds that the winner, Nuclei, owned ami trained by Mr. F. W. Ehrhorn, was ineligible to run by reason of the fact that Ehrhorn was not at the time the holder of a permit to train as required by the Rules of Racing. Mr. Main was the owner of the second horse, Bachelor King.

The committee decided that in the absence of proof of fraud on the part, of Mr. Ehrhorn, owner ol Nuclei, the claim made by Mr. G. Main, owner of Bachelor King, for payment nf the full winning stake won by the horse Nuclei at the club's spring meeting could not be. received or dealt with, not having been made within 14 days of the conclusion of the club's spring meeting, as provided in Rule 328, sub-section 3, of the Rules of Racing. It was also decided that the £2 deposited by Mr. Main be returned. Tho only horses to be galloped on the plough were Maungakowhai and Happy Lass, who finished together at the end of half a mile in 51s. Sinking Fund, accompanied over tho first three furlongs by Tavern Song in 40 4-ss, got to the end of half a mile in 55Js. Mark's Gift, a maiden in J. Smith's stable, dashed over two furlongs in 25 4-ss. Kanapa finished strong work by running three furlongs in 435. Winlona was allotted a similar task, occupying 41s for the last three furlongs. These horses will do their next racing at the Takapuna meeting. Lilbert, Joyzell, Sandrift and Curlew finished in that order at the end of seven furlongs in 1.34 i, tho last half mile occupying 555. * Bronzette and Cometarium showed speed in running three furlongs in ,'3B 4-ss. Sandstead ran half a mile in 575. time on which ho could have improved. Boughal, who is coming to hand nicely, brushed over half a mile in 54 4-ss. Trouvaille ran five furlongs in

I.B*. , ~ Cappy pleased by cutting out half a mile in 5445. Red Fox was timed to run once round in 2.115. Over a similar distance Respectful and Gay Streak were practically on terms in 2.8. Bryce Street finished in front of Dust Up and Golden Jubilee at the completion of five furlongs in 1.10. Sunny Downs and Kilbcris encompassed a round in 2.13 without being extended. Calcutta (Cotter) and Full o' Scotch (Amunsden) were associated in a schooling trial over two brush fences, and gave a satisfactory display.

ELLERSLIE TRAINING RINCSHOT'S SIX FURLONGS Owing to rain throughout the morning, there was not a great, deal of fast work at Ellerslie yesterday, when the No. 2 grass was available tor galloping. The going was good. After running the first three in 39 4-ss, Kilonsa (Craig) completed six furlongs in 1.18 2-5. She was travelling smoothlv throughout. Illimani (Wiggins) and Chief Emerald (Craig) traversed a round in 1.57 1-5, the final six furlongs in 1.28 2-5. Tybalt (McCurdy) covered a round in 1.55, the last six furlongs in 1.24 4-5. He relished the easy going, but was inclined to loaf. Hingshot (Wiggins). Huntsman's Chorus (Craig) and High Star (Coldfinch) were in that order at the end of six furlongs in 1.17 4-5, the last three, in 40 2-5. Ringshot is thriving on the work allotted him. Fleetwind (Gilchrist) was not tended while running half a mile in 535. Lone Flier could have bettered 40s for three furlongs. Master Brierl.v completed his task with three furlongs in 38 l-ss. He hit out nicely. Haputale ran the last three furlongs of his work in 39 l-ss. He is bearing an improved appearance. Gay Broney (Cameron) was let off with an easy six furlongs in 1.20 1-5, tho last three in 40s. White Foam (Gilchrist) sprinted three furlongs in 38 2-ss. Kelly (Gilchrist) hit out well over six furlongs in 1.18 1-5, the last three in 39 4-ss.

NOVEL EVENT RACE FOR GREY PACERS An exhibition mile race for grey pacers will he staged at the matinee meeting at Epsom on January 23. The contestants will be Great Fame and Silver Watch and hopes are entertained that Kin. Kaha will also take part. Grey horses have at times created surprises, notably Wairoa Belle at Nelson, when she paid over £IOOO, and Angelina at Karamea, when she won without a ticket being invested on her chances.
