GOVERNOR PARDONED
CHINESE REBEL LEADER COUNCIL REMITS SENTENCE NANKING, Jan. 4 The State Council has pardoned Marshal Chang Hsueh-liang, rebel Governor of Shcnsi, remitting the sentence of 10 years' imprisonment passed on liiin by the court-murtial on December 31. This, it is' stated, is the view taken in responsible quartors. The first move for national unity will be taken, it is forecast, by the Communist armies, who will change their name and modify their policy as a contribution to a patriotic united front.
