AIR LINER PASSENGER

MYSTERY OF DISAPPEARANCE FALL OR JUMP FROM MACHINE LONDON, Jan. 4 In connection with the disappearance of Max. V. Wenner from the CologneBrussels air liner the question has been raised whether he fell or jumped. Fellow-passengers of Wenner who came to London from Brussels in another aeroplane stated that they saw Wenner write letters, put them in his pocket and leave the compartment. Later they felt a bang and a shudder of the fuselage. The door in the floor of the lnggago locker was damaged. The bang, therefore, presumably was caused by the door slamming shut owing to wind pressure. The aeroplane was then about 3000 ft. over tho Mouse district.

Wenner was about 49 years of age He was reputed to be wealthy, and lived at Batchcoto Hall, Shropshire. His wife, to whom ho was most devoted, died last July. The case recalls the tragic disappearance of Captain Loewenstein, noted European financier, from a machine over the English Channel In Julv, 1928.
