OBITUARY

SIR R. S. JOHNSTONE (Received January 4, 6.5 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY, Jan. 3 The death has occurred of Sir Robert Stewart Johnstone, who was Chief Justice, Granada, from 1909 to 1914. He was aged 81. Sir Robert Johnstone was horn at Dunesk, Belfast. He was educated privately and at Trinity College, Dublin. He was called to the Irish Bar in 1886 and Gray's Inn in 1889. Sir Robert was District Commissioner at Lagos. 1889; Stipendiary Magistrate at the Bahamas, 1894; and was appointed Chief Justice at Granada in 1909. He retired in 1914.
