MAN FOUND UNDER BED
CHRISTMAS EVE INCIDENT DETAINED FOR OBSERVATION Found under a woman's bed in a room of the Mavfair Flats, Parncll Road, on Christmas Eve, and remanded in custody last Tuesday on charges of vagrancy and resisting a constable, which he admitted, Horace Gordon Fisher, taxi-driver and labourer, aged 30, appeared for sentence before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday. Sub-Inspector Fox said the Salvatitn Army officer was prepared to look after accused for a period if the Court so directed, whereupon the magistrate said: "It is in a case like this that the Salvation Army can give useful assistance to the Court. It provides a generous form of Christianity, which allows a man to be detained and watched without being imprisoned. There seems to be some abnormality about accused, but I will order him to be detained in the homo for two weeks for observation, sentence to be postponed in the meantime. '
