CROQUET CLUB FUNCTION Prior to leaving Whangarei to take up her residence in Auckland, Mrs. L. Baigent, secretary of tho Whangarei Croquet Club, was entertained in the club pavilion this week by members and friends. Tho guests wero received by the president, Mrs. K. Radcliffe, who, on behalf of those present, presented Mrs. Baigent with a silver sandwich server. Among those present were: —Mrs. R. H. Packwood, Mrs. T. E. Woodman, Mrs. G. S. B. Morrison, Mrs. J. Walker. Mrs. G. Marshall, Mrs. K. V. Halliday, Mrs. A. R, Crane, Mrs. A. McPhec, Mrs. E. N. Boult, Mrs. J. A Finlavson, Mrs. I). X. McLeod, Mrs. C. V. Kerr, Mrs. J. MacLeod, Mrs. T. S. E. Sloane, Mrs. M. Council, .Mrs. R. Harrison, Mrs. Short (Now LMvmouth), Miss Olive Radcliffe. Mrs. E. O'Carroll, of Tauranga, is visiting relatives and friends in the Maungakaramea district. Mrs. Stockley, of Te Aroha, and Miss A. Mann, of Auckland, aro visiting Maungakaramea and are the guests of Mrs. Litt. Miss T. Gabolinscy, of Ivohukohu, is on a visit to Taihape. Sister Burrows, of tho Napier Hospital staff, is spending her holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Burrows, Kohukohu. Mrs. Peart and family, of Okaihau, are on a visit to Auckland. Miss Mollv Lorn as and Miss Stella Turner, of Okaihau, after spending a few days in Whangarei, loft for Auckland. Tho Misses Ailsa and Zita McInerney, of Okaihau, aro oil a visit to Te Puke, Bay of Plenty. Mrs. F. Rovvsell, and Miss Freda Rowsoll, of Okaihau, are spending a holiday in Auckland. Miss Patrick, of Whangarei, is spending tho holidays at Opuawhanga and is the guest of Mrs. McLean. Mrs. Martin, of Auckland, and her daughter, are visiting Kohukohu and are the guests of Mrs. Martin's father, .Mr. 10. Bonner.
