TROTTING AT EPSOM

WET WEATHER FROCKING VARIETY OF MACINTOSHES The heavy showers and high wind which prevailed yesterday no doubt deterred some people from attending the second day of the Auckland Trotting Club's Summer Meeting at Alexandra Park, Epsom. It also prevented the appearance of the summer frocks which are such .1 feature of the race meetings at this time of the year. Many women, however, donned tailored frocks and raincoats, and, thus equipped, spent quito a pleasant afternoon. A noticeable feature of the frockiug was the surprising variety of mackintoshes in patterned and checked designs. Colour was also achieved with gay rubber capes and with scarves of brilliant hues. The hats were generally of felt or velonr and showed a great diversity of colours and shapes. Among those present were: —Mrs. Gustavo Pezaro, who wore a black and white flecked woollen tailored frock with a fur capo and a small black hat; Mrs. A. 10. Watkins, navy and white ensemble and a navy hat; Mrs. Claude Best, navy cloth ensemble and a small navy hat; Mrs. Norman Urcn, cherry and navy ensemble and a navy hat; Mrs. M. G.
