TOWN RE-INHABITED HOPEFUL PEOPLE RETURN (Received December 27. 5.5 p.m.) SAN SALVADOR, Dec. 26 The earthquake which ruined San Vincente, Salvador, on December 20, was not so sad as might have been expected. The people have returned cheerful and hopeful in spite of the almost complete destruction of the once thriving town.

The deaths from the earthquake which destroyed the town of San "Vincente on December 20 totalled 250. and those injured numbered 1000. Thousands of peoplo were rendered homeless, with their adobe houses destroyed, and 6000 refugees received shelter and food in hospitals, schools and public buildings at San Salvador.
