CONTESTS IN CHRISTCHURCH [flY TKM'.GU.W'n —IMIKSB ASSOCIATION] CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday The brondsidinir season opened at Monica Park last evening. Two Australian riders, Melhuish and Duggan, Rave disappointing displays. In the Koscoe Handicap, open, of one mile, Melhuish was third in his heat. Dugp:ui won his heat, hut neither .survived the .semi-finals. The experts' points race, in which S. Rhodes, of Christchnrch, met the Australians, was won easily hy Uhodes, Melhuish being second. The time, was lm 'JI -l-.'is. Another experts' points race was won by Duggall, Dumpleton. C'h.ristcliurcli, being second, and Melhuish third. The time was lm 'J."> 4-ss. The third experts' points race was won by Melhuish. Duggau and Forbes did not finish.
