RADIO PROGRAMMES
Sir, —Some time ago Professor Shelley took charge of New Zealand's radio broadcasts. Many of us feared that the programmes designed by him would become too high brow. If the fare put over the air during the Christmas period is any criterion our fears in this direction were quite unfounded. Bad jazz and bad speech seemed to predominate. Of the pathetic efforts of local amateurs to interest long suffering listeners in advertising programmes the less said the better. How Long ?
