KEEN WISH TO FLY
INSUFFICIENT EQUIPMENT WESTERN CLUB'S DISTRICT [by telegraph OWN correspondent] NEW PLYMOUTH, Tuesday More pupils than can be trained by one instructor and the equipment available are offering in the Western Federated Flying Club's area, which includes the whole of Taranaki, Wanganui and Bangitikei. The Wanganni delegates on the council of the federation were insistent, at a meeting to-night, that actipn should be taken promptly to secure the services of an additional instructor and further machines. It was stated that four machines wore constantly engaged but could not cope with the work. Further ground equipment also would probably be necessary. A sub-committee was appointed to investigate the position and report to the next meeting. The Wanganui delegates said that as a result of the recent scholarship dozens of pupils were waiting for training at Wanganui. The northern delegates emphasised the necessity of keeping faith with the trainees, many of whom had joined as a result pf the scholarship .contests at New Plymouth and Hawera.
A suggestion was made that the Government should be responsible for seeing that all pupils offering received training, but Mr. A. S. Burgess, Wanganui, expressed the opinion that little further help could be expected from the State.
