PRIME MINISTER

NO AUCKLAND HOLIDAY STAYING IN WELLINGTON "DECKS NOT YET CLEARED" TOUR OF DOMINION LATER [by TKLKGHAPH —OWN COnBRSPONDKNT] WELLING TON, Tuesday Contrary to cherished plans and his hope to spend tho holiday season in his own electorate in Auckland tho Prime Minister, Mr. Savage, finds it necessary to remain in Wellington for a few weeks longer. "It is with keen regret that I find it unavoidable to postpone my promised visits to other centres before and even during the midsummer holiday season," said Mr. Savage this evening. "I must remain in Wellington for some time vet."

Tho Prime Minister explained that he had hoped to visit Auckland during the Christmas and New Year holidays and as was natural and right particularly to meet the people of his own electorate. But even that pleasure would have to be forfeited in the meantime. The recent constitutional crisis had taken up a great deal of timo and thought which normally would have been devoted to dealing with administrative business before the holiday season. "The dorks have not been cleared for relaxation," added the Prime Minister, "and until pressing work has boon disposed of no arrangements can be made for visits to other main centres and Maori districts. I shall bo in Wellington during Yulotide, but I hope to obtain a few days' rest at home with an opportunity now and again to have a look at tho attractions of the capital and the increasing evidences of its development and activities. Early in the new year, however, I hope to complete plans to fulfil my promise to make a tour of the Dominion and talk with the people about better times and the Government's determination to keep times better."
