PRO-CHANCELLOR'S RETURN EXPERIENCES IN ENGLAND [BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION'] "WELLINGTON, Mondav Accompanied by his wife, whom he married in England, Mr. H. F. Von Hanst, of Wellington, pro-Chancellor of the University of New Zealand, ireturned by the Awatea this morning from a trip abroad; Mr. Von Haast represented New Zealand at the centenary celebrations of the University of London, and a: ! so at the congress of the LTniversities of the British Empire at Cambridge, where he stayed with Lord Rutherford. in Canada he had an interview with a prominent King's Counsel, who was one of the isolationists at the British Commonwealth Relations Conference at Toronto in 1933, and who stated that if the League of. Nations failed that would be the end of the British Empire.
