AIR MISHAP

CRASH INTO A HEDGE ESCAPE OF OCCUPANTS BOTH SUFFER FROM SHOCK [BY TELEGRAPH —TRKBS ASSOCIATION] OAMARU, Monday An aeroplane owned and flown by Mr. Vincent Cotton, of Christchurch, crashed into a gorse hedge and capsized early this afternoon, when landing in a paddock on Major H. S. Orbell's property, a few miles north of Oamaru. The pilot and a passenger, L. Hahn, pi Christchurch, escaped lightly. Mr. Halm's forehead and knee were slightly rut and both men suffered from shock.

The pilot was bringing Mr. Hahn, a photographer, to Oamaru to take photographs of the Waitaki Boys School. Mr. Cotton was attempting to land in a field near the school when the machine overran the paddock, crashed through a gorse hedge, and capsized. The propeller of the machine was broken, the wings were crumpled and other damage was caused.
