TENSION IN EUROPE BRITAIN'S WORK FOR PEACE "Great Britain is struggling night and day to keep Europe out of a war," said Sir James Parr, former New Zealand High Commissioner in London, on his return to Auckland yesterday, "The High Commissioner's duties have immensely increased," said Sir James. "During the past 12 months I found it necessary to give up certain duties, and spend half my time, together with other High Commissioners, at the Foreign Office. Practically every week fresh problems would arise or there would be fresh alarms, for the international situation in Europe in the past six months has been exceedingly serioua.
