PUKEKOHE HORTICULTURISTS [ntOM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] * PUKEKOHE, Tuesday At a miniature rose show held last, evening by the Pukekohe Horticultural Society, an announcement was made by the president, Mr. E. Allan, that an application for the affiliation of the society with the Royal Horticultural Society had been forwarded to England. Some 100 entries were received at last, evening's show, while Mr. E. Hosking, of Opaheke, who gave an address on modern varieties of roses and their cultivation, provided another 100 blooms. The points prize was won by Mr. M. 0. Brown, of Waiau Pa, while Mrs. R. Walsham, of Pukekohe, was runner-up. The prize for the best Victorian posy went to Miss I). Melville, of Buekland. With a basket made entirely of flowers and foliage, Mrs. W. A. Willis, of Pukekohe Hill, won the prize for the best floral device, while that for the best bowl of roses was won by Mrs. W. R. Miller, of Pukekohe West.
