THE PLACEMENT SCHEME
WELLINGTON HEADS LIST AUCKLAND IN SECOND PLACE Dominion placements of unemployed up to November 14 show that Auckland, which recently lagged considerably, now occupies second place to Wellington, which heads the totals among cities and towns. The Wellington figures arc 1944 and the Auckland 1674. The figures for the Dominion show that 7224 men were placed in permanent positions, 2006 in casual work and 3750 in temporary jobs, the total placements being 13,970. For the week ended November 14 the Dominion placements were 1076.
