FURTHERING INTERESTS PARENTS' ASSOCIATION A decision to form a Parents' Association was made at a well-attended meeting of parents held at the Seddon Memorial Technical College. Miss B. L. Carnachan presided. The principal, Mr. G. J. Park, said an active Parents' Association would be of valuable assistance to the college in more ambitious schemes which would have to be carried if the college was to take its proper place in the community life of Auckland. He mentioned such projects as a new site, a hostel, better facilities for practical work in agriculture, and general extension of technical education in Auckland. It was decided to urge tho board of managers to increase the playground area, and to approach the Minister of Education on the subject as soon as possible. An interim committee to proceed with the formation of a Parents' Association was set up consisting of the following:— Mcsdames Gough and Lewis. Messrs. C. W. O'Hara, H. I. Bennett, Crabbe and Dunne.
