| EXPENSES OF ACTRESS DETERMINATION TO SUCCEED NEW YORK, Nov. 11 The film star Miss Bettc Davis on ber return to New York from London stated that sho was interested in opportunity, not in money. "1 am an ambitious person," said Miss Davis. "I can go up in the world, or down. I am determined to go up. 1 will get 3000 dollars (about £600) a week in 1042 if I live that long. At present 1 get IGOO dollars. "My salary is not a fat one," continued the actress. "Taxes and Hollywood living do not leave much. About seven cents of every dollar is left. Besides, an actress has only 10 years of stardom at the most."
