Miss Judy Aickin, of Symonds Street, returned by the Awatea yesterday morning from Australia. Mrs. J. W. Austin, of Sydney, arrived by the Awatea yesterday morning on a visit to Auckland. Mrs. W. P. Endean, of Judge Street, Parnell, returned by the Awatea yesterday morning from a visit to Australia. Mrs. A. E. Watkins and Miss Shirley Watkins, of Mission Bay, who have been visiting Rotorua, will return home to-daj'. Lady Shirtcliffe,. of Wellington, is returning to New Zealand from a visit to England by the Akaroa early 111 December. Miss Isa Macdonald, who has been spending several years in London, will return to Auckland by the Rangitata to-morrow. Mrs. H. W. Frost, of Epsom, who has been on a visit; to the Solomon Islands, returned to Auckland yesterday morning by the Awatea. Mrs. A. T. Howie returned to Auckland from Dunedin on Saturday and is staying with her father, the Rev. A. j/Seamer, at Birkenhead. Lady Campbell, accompanied by Sir Charles Campbell, of Motunau North Canterbury, is a passenger by the Akaroa, due at Wellington from London on December 5. Miss M. B. Redman, who holds the croquet championship of South Australia, arrived at Auckland by_ _ the Awatea yesterday morning on a visit to relatives at Epsom. Mrs H. J. D. Mahon and the Misses L. and D. Mahon, of Auckland, who have been visiting Britain and the Continent, are due to arrive in Wellington by the Akaroa early next month. At Hotel Cargen are: —Mrs. J. 0. The final meeting for the year of the R emu era branch of the Auckland Methodist Women's Missionary Auxiliary was held on-Friday, Mrs. W. ToddSmith presiding. An account of the 1 work done among the Maoris was given by the Rev. G. I. Laurenson who spoke highly of the Maori Girls Home at Onehunga. The weekly meeting of the Daisy Chain Club was held in the club rooms on Friday afternoon,. Mrs. Lord presiding over a large gathering. Congratulations were extended to the president on the celebration of her golden wedding. A successful "bring and buy" sale was held. The monthly meeting of the People's Health Society was held at the clubrooms, Victoria Arcade, last week. Mrs. M. M. Dreaver presided over a good attendance. A reply from the Hon. P. Eraser. Minister of Health, to a letter from the society advocating a marriage certificate of health, .stated that statutory provision was made in the Social Hygiene Act, 1917, to reduce the chances of disease infection.
