ILIMINATING CROSSING MAMAKU HILL DEVIATION [by telegraph—owx correspondent] EOTORUA, Monday Good progress is being made with the construction of the deviation leading to the site of the new overbridge which will eliminate the level-crossing at Tarukenga, on the Mamaku Hill, about 10 miles from Rotorua. The contractor has also started the construction of the bridge. ■: It is unlikely that the new route will bo open in time for the Christmas holiday traffic. The surface of the -new filling will, however, require to be consolidated bv traffic for some time before it can be sealed.
