WATER FOR MANUREWA

PROGRESS OF SCHEME The Manurewa Town Board is proceeding with its water supply scheme, for which an authorising requisition was received from the Board of Health in September. Tenders for pipes and fittings have closed, and plans have been made for the construction of a service reservoir in reinforced concrete at Hill .Road .Reserve, Manurewa. Tho water scheme involves the laying of a pipe line from tho Papakura Town Board mains to Manurewa, and the reticulation of the whole district.

The reservoir, it was explained yesterday, will serve as a stand-by in ease of a break in the pipe line. It will be of sufficient capacity to supply Manurewa's needs during any period of repair work to the pipe lino which might be necessitated by a land slip or other mishap.
