ARRIVAL IN NEW YORK RETICENCE ABOUT VISIT NEW YORK, Sept. 21 Miss Sarah Churchill, actress daughter of Mr. Winston Churchill, and her brother, Mr. Randolph Churchill, who both arrived hero in the past 24 hours, refuse to make any statement about tho object of Miss Churchill's visit. Mr. Vic. Oliver, stage comedian, left on a theatrical tour after declaring that "everything depended upon tho Churchill family." Miss Churchill, who is 21 years of age, made her stage debut in London early this year as a chorus girl in a production in which Mr. Oliver also appeared On September 16 Miss Churchill sailed unexpectedly for New York. It was believed that she had accepted an invitation by Mr. Oliver to join his new show, "Shooting High," at a salary of £l2 a week. Tho Daily Mail said it believed that, before leaving, Miss Churchill wrote to her mother intimating that she might soon becomo engaged to Mr. Oliver. When questioned in New York, however, tho comedian said ho had no intention of marrying the statesman's daughter. News that the actress would elope to avoid parental objections to the match, and a later report of tho sailing of her brother, to prevent the wedding if ho could, attracted considerable attention.
