"The town is as divided as the motor trade on this question," said the president, Mr. C. L. Bagnall. "I think the town would be well advised to get all the business it .can, and when the Saturday half-holiday is forced on us it will bo time enough to think about it." Mr. Silich said the employees at one garage had definitely refused to work on Monday. They would not accept Wednesday, but would take either Monday or Saturday. Mr. A. Costello: Half the business of tho week is done on Saturday, and employees can be given any day but that. Mr. It. Gibson said he agreed that tho question could be left alono at present. The workers, whom tho present Government represented, wanted a Saturday half-day, and ho thought legislation for a universal half-day would be passed. No action was taken in the matter.
