WRESTLER DISQUALIFIED

LURICH ATTACKS REFEREE Scenes of disorder preceded the disqualification of Tom Lurich in the fifth round of his wrestling match with Jack Britton, at Eitzroy Stadium, says a Sydney writer. Opposed by a wrestler who was faster, cleverer, and equally strong, Lurich throughout had indulged in pleasantries, and the application of strangleholds. Stung to retaliation, Britton ontpunclied Lurich in the fifth round, whereupon Lurich became angry, and when the referee, A. Donnet, intervened, attacked liim also. Having warned Lurich frequently, Donnet disqualified him, and awarded the match to Britton, while Lurich raved, and the big crowd hooted. Prior to this the falls wero equal, Britton gaining one in the second round with a short-arm scissors, and Lurich equalising matters in the fourth with a body scissors and press.
