CARS IN COLLISION

ACCIDENT AT WIRI SEVERAL PERSONS INJURED Minor injuries were suffered by the drivers of two motor-cars and a passenger when the two vehicles were involved in a collision shortly after 10 o'clock yesterday on the Great South Road, near Wiri. Mr. Abraham Cunningham, of Milton Road, Heine Bay, was driving a small car southward, and at a bend in the highway it came into collision with a car proceeding northward driven by Mr. William Henry Johns, of Taumarunui. Mr. Cunningham suffered injuries to his shoulder and ribs, and after being treated by Dr. T. R. Plunkett, of Papatoetoe, was taken to the Auckland Hospital by a St. John ambulance. H<« was able to proceed home after receiving medical attention. Mr. Johns suffered a cut on the wrist and bruises to the head. A passenger in Mr. Cunningham's car also received slight cuts from flying glass. Both were able to proceed on their way after being treated. A passenger in Mr. Johns' car and another in Mr. Cunningham's car suffered slightly from shock.

Both cars \vere damaged extensively, the right-hand wheel of the smaller car being torn from the axle. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene by break-down waggons.

DAMAGE TO MOTOR-CAR PASSENGERS ESCAPE LIGHTLY Extensive damage was done to a motor-car driven by Mr. F. T. Martin, of 1 St. Francis de Sale Street, Ponsonby, when it was involved in a collision with a motor-truck at Avondale early on Saturday evening. Mr. Martin and four young women who were with him in the car suffered from abrasions and shock, and were taken to their homes in a St. John ambulance. The truck, owned by the Crinn Brick, Tile and Pottery Company, Limited, and driven by Mr. G. A. Crum, was not badly damaged.

MISHAP AT HAMILTON MOTOR-CYCLIST IN HOSPITAL [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Sunday A collision occurred at the corner of Lake Road and Commerce Street. Frankton, yesterday morning, between a motor-cycle ridden by Mr. Henry Spencer, aged 22, a carpenter, of Ellerslie, and a motor-car driven by Mr. Percival Pickup, fanner, of Waharoa. Mr. Spencer suffered head injuries and concussion, and was taken to the Waikato Hospital in a St. John ambulance. His condition to-day was not serious.
