LOST FROM STEAMER
SHIP'S BUTCHER MISSING VAIN SEARCH MADE AT SEA [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Friday When the New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Rotoraa was off Castlepoint at 8 o'clock this morning, on the way from Auckland to "Wellington, the ship's butcher, Mr. G. Cook, waa reported misaing. A thorough s?o rch of the vessel failed "to reveal bis whereabouts and at 8.25 a.m. the master. Captain C. B. Lamb, put the Rotoru.H about and for two hours steamed siowi.V back orcr the course. At 10.20, when the search had proved unsuccessful, the Ho torn a was once more put on her course for Wellington and arrived shortly after 6 o'clock this evening. There was only a moderate sea running, with a fresh north-west-erly breeze, when Mr. Cook was re ported missing.
