WEEK-END ATTRACTIONS

RUGBY AND LEAGUE FINALS 100 MILES CYCLE RACE Sporting interest to-day is likely to centre in the Rugby and League football matches to be played at Eden Park and Carlaw Park this afternoon. This principal Rugby game at Eden Park will bo the Jubilee Trophy final between Marist and Ponsonby, while ihe main League attraction at Carlaw Park will be the champion of champions game between Manukau and Richmond. In the Association football code, the Navy final between Achilles and Philomel teams will be played at Blandford Park at 1.30, while North Shore will meet Ponsonby at 3 p.m. for the championship'and the Falcon Cup. Games will lie continued in all hockey grades, while championship rounds again will be in progress at the main golf clubs. There will opening of the season ceremonies at many bowling greens. Considerable interest is being taken by cycling enthusiasts in the 100-miles' provincial and North island amateur championship road race to Ngaruawahia and back from Papakura. The race will start at. 9 30 a.m. Aerobatics displays will be given by Flight-Lieu tenant D. -M. Allan at Mangere Aerodrome to-morrow afternoon. A number of parachute descents also will be made.
