SLEUTHS CARICATURED
_ It is not every reader of detective fiction who will like to see one of his favourite sleuths caricatured, and for this reason "Case for Three Detectives," by Loo Bruce, may not bo popular. Mrs. Thurston, a harmless elderly woman is found murdered in her bedroom. There arc several suspects both inside and outside the house, and suddenly there arrive on the scene three amateur detectives who, although given different names, bear striking resemblance to Lord Peter Winisev, M. Hereule Poirot and Father Brown. Kaeli goes about solving tho problem in his own way, and each arrives at a very ingenious but totally incorrect solution. It is left for tho appropriatelynamed Sergeant Beef to discover the murderer. "CfiHo for Throe Detectives," by Leo Bruce. (Geoffrey Blcs.)
