BARRACKING AT CRICKET
PRAISE FOR AUSTRALIANS Praise of the barracking of Australian cricket enthusiasts is expressed by C. H. Parkin in his book, "Cricket Triumphs and Trouble." "I like it," he says. "It is good for sport. There is no harm in it. Australians are keen and like to see the best team win. They always give credit where it is due to any player, no matter on which side he is. "The Australian tour of 1920 proved to nie that Australians have 110 superiors as judges of the game, that barracking docs not and should not present any .difficulties to touring sides, that Australians on their sun-baked, shirt-front wickets are terribly difficult to beat, and that Australian supporters of the game are second to none. ."If English supporters were only as well versed in cricket as the Australians, we would be a long way better off. Every Australian child is nursed in the cradle of cricket and knows the game upside down."
