LAWN TENNIS
BIRKDALE CLUB'S SEASON There was a large attendance at the annual meeting of tho Hirkdalo Tennis Club. The president, Mr. W. S. (Jarrctt, presided. Tho report reviewed a successful season and stated that the substantial credit balance would bo applied to resurfacing two courts and effecting oilier improvements to the grounds It was decided tliiit Iho club should enter one team in tho (J grade competitions of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association and that opening day should be held on October 17. The following officers were elected: —Patron, Mr. <>. Mills, Mayor of liirkenheadj president, Mr. W. S. (iarrett; vice-presidents, II were elected; secretary and treasurer, Mr. 10. ,1.
